As I have noted before, Ancestry.com labels their records as new or updated and FamilySearch.org does not have this information so it is more difficult to determine the status of their records. One way to do this on FamilySearch.org is to click on the "Learn More" link when you first access the record. This will take you to the Wiki page on this record collection which will provide details or hints that will help determine if the record is "new" or "updated".
Happy ancestor hunting.
