For some time I have been searching for my Father's World War ll draft registration cards. I had searched many times on FamilySearch Historical Records Collection and was not able to find the record. Thanks to the assistance of my daughter, Lynne, I have been able to find not only his draft registration card but also the cards of his three brothers.
In the last year FamilySearch has added four collections to their site that covers most of the Registration Draft cards of WW II in the states of Louisiana and Arkansas. The title of these records are:
Louisiana, First Registration Draft Cards, 1940-1945
Arkansas, First Registration Draft Cards, 1940-1945
These records are for individuals born between February, 1897 and 1928.
Louisiana, Second Registration Draft Cards, compiled 1948-1959
Arkansas, Second Registration Draft Cards, 1948-1959
These records are for individuals born between 1922 and 1940
To find these record collections:
On the home page of FamilySearch click on "Browse all Public Collections"
Type "draft" in the Filter by Collection Name Box
The links to the record collections will appear in the results
When reading the descriptions of the records notice that they are not complete and are being updated as images become available. Check back frequently to see if they have been updated. I will be posting notices when these and all records are updated, so visit this site often.
